Statistics:
One mile of Fourmile Creek at 9,700 feet elevation. Stream flows range from 5 to 40 cfs during summer.
Fees:
$35.00 per angler; maximum of 2 anglers per day. No refunds once payments are made.
Check-in Procedure:
ALL anglers must obtain a daily parking pass from "Yer Flies Open" before proceeding to this property. They open at 8:00 AM daily throughout summer.

"Yer Flies Open" is located at 9th and Main Streets in Fairplay (next to the liquor store).

This property is patrolled and all vehicles without a parking pass are reported immediately to the Park County Sheriff.

Description:
Only 15 feet across at its widest, Fourmile Creek is perfect small water fishing with a three-weight fly rod. Countless tight meanders, deep pockets and undercut banks harbor abundant wild browns in the 5 to 10 inch range, with larger browns under the banks. This property has also been stocked with rainbows in the 10-15 inch range. A progression of aquatic hatches make for good dry fly-fishing after runoff, along with abundant hoppers that appear in July. Tight meander loops allow two anglers to leap frog without disturbing the fish. Due to its small size and large population of wary browns, anglers should stay low and carefully work every niche deeper than six inches. While the majority of fish are under 12 inches, their sheer numbers present stealthy anglers with the opportunity for non-stop action on dry flies and small (#16-20) beadhead nymphs.
Hazards:
Please cross fences only where fence ladders are provided (in two places). Lightning is a very real hazard and no shelter or restrooms exist anywhere on this property.

This is a working ranch with livestock...DO NOT approach or attempt to feed the cattle or yaks!

Facilities:
There are no sanitary facilities on this property. The nearest restrooms, drinking water and other services are located in the town of Fairplay. Please plan accordingly on the day of your arrival.
