South Fork at DM Ranch in September, 2009.

This 24 inch spawning brown was observed at the DM Ranch in late September 2009.

Simply watching fish can be a rewarding experience at the DM Ranch.

This 26 inch brown is one of the largest fish released to date at the DM Ranch. The other was a 28 inch (eight pound) brown that surfaced for a stimulator due north of the ranch house.

Wild browns in the 14-18 inch range are common on the DM Ranch.

September is a glorious time to fish the DM Ranch.

The DM Ranch is laced with beaver ponds that hold large browns.

The South Fork of the South Platte is a small and diverse river on the DM Ranch.

Due to its high quality habitat, the DM Ranch serves as a "reference" property for restoration projects on other streams in the area.

The upper (west) end of the DM Ranch is a vast wetland with numerous beaver ponds that receive very little fishing pressure. Walking, wading and casting in this area are challenging.
